Wendy won the Artist in Residency 2002 commission with Darlington Building Society, to portray a year in the life of the Society.

The goal of the residency is to create a series of original pieces which reflect a year in the Society - including the many and varied cultural and sports events the Society supports.

These include Darlington Football Club, Darlington Cricket Club, Redcar Races Family Fun Day, The Castle Players theatrical group.

Towards the end of the year an exhibition will be launched featuring the artwork created throughout the year.

The residency is funded in part by one of only ten awards made by Northern Arts under ‘Encore’, the Regional Arts Lottery Programme.

Darlington Building Society is a community focused organisation, dedicated to looking after the local interests of the people of County Durham, North Yorkshire and the Tees Valley. During 2000 over 80 worthy causes in this region received our support.
